Barça to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
