Salah Offers Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team after the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
