Spurs Boss Thomas Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not Genuine Fans'
Fulham Begin Powerfully to Defeat Spurs and Increase Tension on the Manager
Spurs supporters who jeered goalkeeper Vicario were told later "they cannot be true Spurs supporters" by boss Frank.
Spurs let in a pair of goals in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their tenth Premier League home defeat of 2025.
But the primary talking point was Fulham's second score when Vicario gave away the ball well outside his area.
He came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball towards the sideline.
But, instead of booting it into touch, the Italian turned and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.
The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfielder Harry Wilson, who bent a shot into the goal from the sideline recorded at 36.6 metres.
Seconds later when the ball came to the keeper once more, a number of Tottenham fans jeered him.
Spurs were booed off at the interval, with the side 2-0 behind, and again at full-time.
A particular of those booing episodes really angered the manager.
"I heard some of our fans reportedly jeered the incident and jeered after, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated regarding the fans' response to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals cannot be true Tottenham supporters that do that. Fair enough jeering after the game, fine, but when we are in play, we are backing one another, we are behind each other going forward."
Tete had given the visitors a early advantage prior to Harry Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Tottenham in an improved second period showing.
Former Premier League goalkeeper Hart remarked that the next goal was "totally avoidable".
"I certainly appreciate the fans' disappointment," Hart added. "I know the part Vicario is playing. He is a great team player, he's a real figure in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.
"The keeper was heavily implicated in what turned out to be the winning goal."
'It is Part of Football, I Can Handle It'
Thomas Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Game
Italy national team Vicario is in his third season with Tottenham.
He said following the game that he had to take the feedback.
"That goal was a mistake of mine, I take responsibility for that," he said.
"The intent was to clear the ball long and I simply struck the ball in a poor manner. That made an more difficult challenge to overcome."
He stated receiving jeers "is part of football".
"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he added. "We can't be influenced by the circumstances in the crowd. Supporters have the entitlement to do what they think.
"It's on the team to stay more calm, to concentrate on ourselves. The team is missing in composure and poise to overturn outcomes. This match is a poor defeat and it is hard to take."
'I Was Surprised Nobody Went Back to the Goal Line'
In spite of Vicario's error, it was far from an easy score for Wilson to score.
In fact it was the second longest-range Premier League score of the season – following Tyler Adams' forty-three point three yard goal for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which incidentally too occurred on the same day.
Wilson said he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an empty net to aim for.
Ten moments passed between the keeper exiting of his area and Wilson shooting – which was five seconds following the kick.
"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the area for a long time," Wilson remarked.
"It amazed me not one of the defenders went back to the line. When not one of them covered the net, my eyes sparked somewhat.
"[Destiny] Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a little additional opportunity. Then it was solely about attempting to make the correct connection and place it on target. I had a positive feeling, the moment it came off my boot, that it was on the right line."

Jeering While We Are Still in Play Is Totally Unjustifiable - the Manager
Although Vicario's mistake led coverage, this was an overall poor performance for Tottenham to continue their home ground struggles.
The match was their 10th home defeat of the year in the league, a shared team record along with nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
The side still have home fixtures against the manager's former club Brentford and title holders the Reds to come prior to the close of the year.
Only one of those victories have come after the manager replaced Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.
"If you are behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.
"When you're in a bad spell, everything appears to go against you as well – the opening was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.
"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost an additional game. Every game has a unique story, today we lost in the early stages.
"We just need to continue striving. The later period was much better and hopefully something we can use to develop."
Spurs have lost 4 straight home capital clashes for the initial time in the top division.
Furthermore they are recording 9.5 shots and 3.2 shots on target per game in the Premier League – their poorest averages on record in a single season (dating back to the 2003-04 season).
Former Cottagers midfield player Danny Murphy stated that the manager has to ride the storm.
"He must accept the stick," the pundit said. "He's taken a prestigious role at a major team with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and duty that accompanies that.
"The performances at their stadium have been poor and they have to improve {quickly|
