The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
