This young athlete boasts considerable social media audience
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known supporters as she begins her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, owns numerous international courses and regularly plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."
"He practically advised me to go out there and have fun," she added.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He represents the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He advised me to go out there, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in the sport at the competition, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that involving Kai brings the sport to wider groups, specifically with younger fans.
The young star has a massive following and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
